Trip prep done time to hit the road

Well the list of jobs is nearly complete and the car and caravan are both loaded so after many months of planning and preparation I guess that we are going to start turning the dream into reality.

So much has been done both to the car and caravan but also around the house as well. We are leaving Loren and Cal in charge and when they start their own adventures our trusty neighbors and friends will be keeping a good eye on everything, thanks everyone.

Prep for the trip has included much work under the caravan as we plan to do a reasonable amount of gravel roads so extra shielding and protection has been added as well as a SH StoneStomper and rock brush fitted to try and reduce the flying stones.

The car has also had a few extra bits and pieces including a wheel swap from low profile wheels to something a bit more common along with a new Lithium battery for the dual battery system to match the ones fitted to the van. It will need to have a service by the time we get to WA so that will be a job to do on the road in the next few weeks.

There is lots of other parts to the preparation that will probably become evident over the next few months.

Our first week is open to what ever camping we find along the way as we head for WA, we do have a spot booked in a caravan park for Easter in Kalgoorlie. I guess that if we manage to free camp as much as as we can it will help with diesel costs that I know are going to hurt the bank balance, o'well maybe a it might keep a few other travelers off the road but it doesn't matter either way as we are
going regardless!

First night on the road between Sea Lake and Ouyen.
