Day 30 Kurumba to Julia Creek
And once again we hit the road for a pretty big travel day. Left early and headed back to Normanton and through to Burke and Wills Roadhouse to make the turn off onto the Wills Development Road. Its about 224 km of mostly single lane bitumen . We now know why a lot of people go back through Cloncurry and then on to Julia Creek. Luckily it was very quiet .
We got into Julia Creek just as the Charity Bash rolled into town so it was a problem to find anything open as they were all at the local oval with the visitors. Ended up heading straight out to the RV campground on the edge of town. A free area with a nice lagoon and friendly wildlife.
We had the Laurel and Hardy show with a rooster and a very fat duck waddling from camp to camp to see what they could get. Very friendly and I'm sure they would have ended up in the car if we had let the door open.
